Golden State hang on and steal Game 1, but the cost is enormous with Steph Curry doing a hamstring. He has already been ruled out for Game 2, which completely changes this series.
Naz was pretty good in Game 1, he spaced the floor well and was often left open when Anthony Edwards was driving. The Warriors made it really hard for Edwards all game, which really stifled the Wolves offence. Notably Reid played 33 minutes and Gobert, the starting centre, only managed 26.
With offence the issue in Game 1, I will not be surprised when Minnesota lean on Reid early, to help space the Warriors out of the paint. He finished with 24 PR last game and I see no reason why he can’t match or improve on that.
Value Bet
No Steph is going to have to mean more Buddy. For someone who was almost non existent during the season, he is putting together a bit of a playoff run.
Buddy came up big for the Warriors in Game 1 and it was a carry over from the Houston series. When he has played 29+ minutes this playoffs, he has scored 17+ every time. Over his last two games he has averaged 28.5 points and thats due to a combined 14 of 19 makes from deep. He will have every opportunity to create offence for Golden State and Jimmy Butler will definitely need a ‘Robin’ in this one.
