Sydney haven’t done enough to justify being eight-point favourites over a red-hot Fremantle side chasing a seventh straight win.

The Bloods have definitely improved in the last three weeks with Errol Gulden and Tom Papley back, but their performances haven’t exactly screamed contender.

Wins over 17th-placed Richmond and a shaky Port side were expected, while last week’s shootout with the Dogs said a lot about the Bulldogs’ poor defence than Sydney’s attack with the Dogs ranked the fourth worst for points conceded in away games.

Freo won’t be as generous. The Dockers have the equal-best defence in the league this year, giving up just 68 points per game and holding every opponent to 70 or fewer in their last seven.
