Bulldogs v Knights
Canterbury play their inaugural NRLW match at home when they host the Knights. The Bulldogs have purchased astutely with Taylor Preston, Holly Wheeler and Ebony Prior leading a strong side that is built around a talented pack. Newcastle are not only dealing with life after Tamika Upton and Hannah Southwell but have star rake Olivia Higgins suspended. The Bulldogs are getting a lot of points here.
Same Game Multi
Sheridan Gallagher is one of the best finishers in the NRLW with 16 tries in 19 games.
Second rower Alexis Tauaneai has plenty of ability and scored three tries in nine games last season.
Broncos v Tigers
This is an absolute one-goer with Brisbane one of the title favourites heading into the season while the Wests Tigers look to be on their way to a wooden spoon. Brisbane welcome home superstar Tamika Upton, who slots into a backline full of firepower. The Tigers have been killed in the transfer market with Leanne Tufunga leading a long list of outs. The Broncos won this match by 30 last year an a similar win here is on the cards.
Same Game Multi
Tamika Upton has 26 career tries and is the most dangerous player in the history of the NRLW.
Julia Robinson has 23 tries and also sits in the Top 5 in premiership history.
Mele Hufunga is a try-scoring machine with 17 tries in 20 appearances over the last two seasons.
Raiders v Dragons
This game might be the pick of the slate with both teams marked as sharp improvers this year. The coaching change at the Dragons is a positive as is the return from injury of Margot Vella. Teagan Berry at her best is up there with the best players in the comp. These two have played two close games. Very keen the plus.
Same Game Multi
This is the easiest SGM of the weekend. Berry is the all-time leading tryscorer in NRLW history. Bartlett is tied for second. The duo have 55 tries between them.
Cowboys v Titans
The Cowboys are an absolutely outstanding bet this week against the Titans. Gold Coast are without their best back in Evania Pelite and best forward in Shannon Mato while Jamie Chapman is enduring a difficult time as she goes through a bad breakup and is under investigation from the NRL Integrity Unit. The Cowboys shocked the Titans last year 11-10 and have improved. Chips in the plus.
Same Game Multi
Jakiya Whitfeld is the Australian winger and is a nice tryscorer with 10 tries in 18 games.
Krystal Blackwell scored just once last year but has plenty of ability.
Roosters v Warriors
The Sydney Roosters are absolutely the team to beat this year with John Strange in charge of a team that is showing no signs of regression. Star Tarryn Aiken will miss this week but the Roosters have too much talent against such an inexperienced Warriors side. The Roosters typically start fast with two of their last three Round 1 games coming by 18 or more. The minus is a bet.
Same Game Multi
Jayme Fressard is all class and has 17 tries in 22 games.
Isabelle Kelly is such a reliable player and against inferior opposition should prove too dangerous.
