NRL Tips – Canberra v Cronulla – Round 8 2024

The Raiders have a tremendous record against Cronulla and can shock the table-toppers at home even with Jamal Fogarty missing.

Canberra +6.5
Line

Canberra opened up as 8.5-point home underdogs in the final match of Round 8 against Cronulla but have shortened into 6.5-point dogs.

The loss of Jamal Fogarty saw bookies put a line through the Raiders chances in this one but that was partially offset by news that Braydon Trindall will be out for the Sharks after failing a roadside drugs test.

Fogarty is central to the Raiders but their cover record actually jumps a percentage point when he is out.

The Raiders have won nine of the last 10 against the Sharks including the last four at Canberra Stadium.

The Sharks have covered just two of six interstate and interstate teams off a win cover at just 37% the last four seasons.

With big early season home underdogs covering at 66%, the Raiders are a confident play.

Tom Hazleton
To Score A Try

Cult hero Tom Hazleton did a great job crossing for a super try last week, not only barging over but stepping past two would-be tacklers. He now has five tries in his last 17 games with the unlikely tryscorer super effective close to the line.
