Gatorade Colour

First things first: disregard red. Both the 49ers and Chiefs wear red and every square who wants a bet tells you it will be red. It won’t be. Teams rarely use their colours for their Gatorade with teams using their primary colour just seven times this century.

Purple is the favourite after being used last year but a single colour has gone back-to-back just twice since Super Bowl 43 and purple seems to be the colour based on it being used by the Chiefs last year. Kansas City are underdogs and no team has used the same colour in their consecutive Super Bowls (even in non-consecutive years).

That leaves two in consideration: Orange and Blue. Orange is the most used colour since 2000 and the Chiefs did use it when they won their first Super Bowl with Mahomes at QB.

The better play though is Blue. Blue is the highest selling Gatorade. It has been used three of the last five years. The value is with Blue.

National Anthem Length

National Anthem Length

Country icon Reba McEntyre has been handed the hour of singing this year’s National Anthem at the Super Bowl and if the betting line is correct, we could be looking at one of the shortest versions of the Star Spangled Banner in history.

The last 11 anthems have reached at least 1 minute 49 while there has not been an over/under time set this low since market recording in 2007. If McEntyre was to go under the total, she would sing the shortest Anthem since Jewel in 1997 and one of the three shortest since 1990. The over has hit in 10 of the last 15.

While recent videos of her singing the Anthem have gone well under, she has been trending up. She has also been singing on stages far less grand than this one – think National Rodeo Championships and softball finals.

Country music performers have tended not to go low. Chris Stapleton, Eric Church and Luke Bryan all topped two minutes while Carrie Underwood went 1.47 and Faith Hill went 2.00, probably the two most comparable artists. Even Dixie Chicks went 1.33.

All indicators suggest the over is a great bet.
