AFL Tips – GWS Giants v Western Bulldogs – Round 10 2024

Giants vs Bulldogs - AFL Tips

The Bulldogs returned to form in a big way last week and can continue their momentum against the Giants, a side they boast a strong record against.

Best Bet

Bulldogs +13.5
Line

GWS have been really poor in the last two weeks and with the loss of key players Lachie Ash and Josh Kelly, the Bulldogs can push them all the way.

The Dogs had won five straight over the Giants before last year’s Round 20 game in Ballarat, where the Giants overran the injury hit Dogs in the second half to win by five points.

After a hot start to the season, the Giants have real questions to answer following big defeats at the hands of Sydney (understandable) and Essendon (highly concerning). Their scoring power has been an issue, with just nine and ten goals in those games.

The Giants midfield is an area of concern, ranking 15th in clearance differential, and the Dogs midfield even without Tom Liberatore has the personnel to exploit this.

With a solid head start, the Dogs are an excellent bet in this one.

Insights

🚫 GWS Giants Scoring Woes: When scoring less than 65 points in their last game, GWS have had difficulty covering the spread in subsequent games, achieving this only twice in their last 9 games.

🆚 Western Bulldogs Against Top Teams: The Western Bulldogs consistently go over the total points line when facing top 4 and top 8 teams, achieving overs in 7 of their last 9 games against both groups.

📈 Western Bulldogs Recent Trends: In their recent performances, the Western Bulldogs have consistently exceeded the total points line, achieving overs in all of their last 4 games and in 7 out of their last 9 games.

Same Game Multi

Bulldogs +13.5, Treloar 30+, Richards 25+ Disposals

Dogs coach Luke Beveridge has clearly earmarked Ed Richards to play fulltime in the middle, attending 83% of centre bounces last week and responding with 34 touches.

Adam Treloar remains an absolute glutton for the Sherrin, with 41 last week he has now had 30 or more in six of nine games this years.

Value Bet

Bulldogs
Win

The rivalry has been strong between these sides ever since the 2016 Preliminary Final and the Dogs have had by far the better of it. They are a solid bet to cause the upset here with question marks over the Swans recent form.
