AFL Tips – Richmond v Fremantle – Round 8 2024

Fremantle’s strength in the middle of the ground should be too much for the undermanned Tigers to overcome on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.

Best Bet

Fremantle -13.5
Line

Fremantle’s midfield brigade has led them to a winning a record after seven weeks and can see the away side record yet another victory at the MCG.

This is the battle of the number one (Freo) versus number eighteen (Richmond) side for clearance differential. Even if you are less convinced about the other aspects of the Dockers side, the likely domination in this area will likely be too difficult for the injury hit Tigers to deal with.

Let’s not forget, the Tigers have their three starting mids, Jacob Hopper, Dion Prestia and Tim Taranto in the stands while Dustin Martin is a shadow of his former self.

Not only are Freo’s starting midfield brigade fit and in-form, they even had Nat Fyfe chime in with 37 disposals last week against the Dogs, his best game in years.

The Dockers have won three of their last five games at the MCG and have covered the line in five of seven games this year.

They should be able to handle the Tigers comfortably here.

Same Game Multi

Freo -13.5, Serong 30+, Brayshaw 25+, Vlastuin, Rioli 20+ Disposals

It has to be about the Freo mids and Richmond defenders here. Caleb Serong and Andrew Brayshaw should all be able to clear these numbers for Freo.

Tigers backs Daniel Rioli and Nick Vlastuin should see plenty of footy in their part of the ground.

Value Bet

Josh Treacy
Top Goal Scorer

Treacy is having a great run of form with multiple goals in three straight games. With the Tigers weakness in the key defensive posts, he’s a great price for most snags in this one.
