Racing Tips – Monday Best Bets for Mornington

Mornington hosts racing on Monday where our best bet is a lightly raced stayer from the Annabel Neasham stable.

Best Bet

2. Balinor
Mornington R6 (3.30pm)

Balinor looks primed to break through stepping out to the 2460m for the first time this prep. The lightly raced import boasts a second to Haaracaine over a similar trip on Cranbourne Cup day last year that is clearly the best reference of anything in this field. He ran well last time at Ballarat in a BM64 that has already proven to be a strong form race.

Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

More Racing Tips

8. Miss Tramell
Mornington R2 (1.30pm)

Miss Tramell finished second on debut at Pakenham back in February over a mile. That was behind subsequent city winner French Flirt so the scenario here of a freshen up into an easier race looks an ideal one for this filly that clearly has plenty of talent. There have been three winners to have come out of her debut.

Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

1. Team Captain
Mornington R5 (3.00pm)

Team Captain contests a non-metro race for the first time since last year’s Hamilton Cup. This is a much easier race for him as you would expect and his performances over 3000m+ have all been quite respectable. With in-form apprentice Jaylah Kennedy taking 2Kg off he looks very well placed here.

Recommended Price: $4.60
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
