Randwick is Sydney’s premier racetrack and the home of the Everest and the Championships. 

Located in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, just six kilometres from Sydney’s CBD, it is a world class racecourse that has outstanding facilities, in particular the new Queen Elizabeth Grandstand. 

From a racing perspective, Randwick is one of the fairest racetracks in the country. It races over 1000m, 1100m, 1200m, 1400m, 1600m, 1800m, 2000m, 2400m and 3200m. 

Randwick is particularly renowned for its ‘mile’ races, held over 1600m. With an almost 600m run to the first bend, it gives every horse their chance, even those drawn very wide. These races include the feature handicaps, the Epsom, run in the spring, and the Doncaster, run in the autumn. 

In recent years the horse racing program at Randwick has been revamped with the addition of the Everest as the richest race run at the venue, and one of the richest in the world. It is now held on the second Saturday in October every year over 1200m. 

In the autumn Randwick hosts the Championships, three consecutive Saturdays of Group 1 racing where the premier horses, trainers and jockeys compete for massive prizemoney and incomparable prestige. 

Group 1 races held at Randwick include the Winx Stakes, George Main Stakes, Epsom Handicap, The Metropolitan, Flight Stakes, Spring Champion Stakes, Surround Stakes, Chipping Norton Stakes, Randwick Guineas, Canterbury Stakes, TJ Smith Stakes, The Doncaster, Australian Derby, Australian Oaks, Queen of the Turf, Sydney Cup, Sires Produce Stakes, All Aged Stakes, and the Champagne Stakes. 

Other feature races held at Randwick are the Everest, The Kosciuszko, The Big Dance, The Country Championships Final, Provincial Championships Final and the Inglis Millennium.
