NRL Tips – Wests Tigers v Brisbane – Round 8 2024

The Tigers are huge underdogs here but on the back of some improved defence they can keep it close enough, even against the red-hot Broncos.

Best Bet

Wests Tigers +12.5
Line

There is going to be nothing fun about this and it could well end the same way the big plus did against the Panthers last week but getting a big start at home, the Tigers are a bet against the Broncos.

Big early-season home underdogs are always a bet. Those teams cover at 66%.

The Tigers also have a very nice recent record against the Broncos. They have remarkably won four of the last five meetings and covered five of the last six.

Benji Marshall’s team have also covered 7 of 11 as an underdog of two converted tries off a loss of 13 or more.

Brisbane get some key faces back in Haas and Reynolds but do lose Mam and Cobbo.

Interstate teams off a win in the opening eight rounds cover at just 37% over the last four years, making this a niggly spot for them.

The Tigers have a poor record at Campbelltown but they remain the bet.

Same Game Multi

Reece Walsh Try/Jahream Bula Try
Same Game Multi

Reece Walsh has six tries in five games this season and now has 11 tries in his last 13 matches.

Jahream Bula is the top attacking weapon of the Tigers and will need to finish more with Junior Tupou now out.

Value Bet

Deine Mariner
To Score 3+ Tries

Make absolutely no mistake: the winger who will debut for the Wests Tigers from rugby union is going to be as bad as Greg Smith. Solomon Alaimalo has been horrific in NSW Cup. The beneficiary from that will be his opposite Deine Mariner. Mariner has three doubles in his last nine first grade games. He is going to fill up.
