MVP

Josh Allen
Regular Season MVP

This season has a real sense of timing for Allen. After two incredible playoff performances to close out the 2021 season, the Wyoming product should take over as the face of the league on a team that should be the best in the AFC.

Coach of the Year

Kevin O'Connell
Regular Season Coach of the Year

Rookie head coach O’Connell has been dropped into a good situation in Minnesota, especially on the offensive side of the ball. In a relatively weak NFC, the Sean McVay protege has the potential to make the playoffs in his first season, and getting the Vikings back to the postseason could well be enough to take the award.

Offensive Player of the Year

Nick Chubb
Offensive Player of the Year

It logically follows that if Chubb can keep the Browns offence on track in the absence of Deshaun Watson, he could well pick up offensive player of the year honours.

Defensive Player of the Year

Joey Bosa
Defensive Player of the Year

Bosa has been one of the best edge defenders in the league despite having very little talent alongside him. However, with the Chargers adding Khalil Mack, Sebastian Joseph-Day and more to their defensive front in the offseason, it gives Bosa the chance to truly shine on what should be a much improved defensive unit.

Offensive Rookie of the Year

George Pickens
Offensive Rookie of the Year

The buzz around Pickens has been enormous as the Georgia product has lit up the preseason. His ball skills and route running are elite, and he should see plenty of targets, albeit mostly from either Mitch Trubisky or fellow rookie Kenny Pickett.

Comeback Player of the Year

Jameis Winston
Comeback Player of the Year

Jameis was putting up excellent numbers in the Saints offence before going down with an ACL in Week 7. Behind an offensive line that is one of the best in football, and with new receiving weapons in first round draft pick Chris Olave and the returning Michael Thomas, Winston could easily lead a Saints side with an excellent defence back to the playoffs.

Most Passing Yards

Derek Carr
Most Passing Yards

As was shown when Drew Brees won this title in five out of six years, to take this award it helps to be on a team with an awful defence. Derek Carr looks an excellent candidate. With their receiving weapons, the Raiders should be able to put up big numbers (even if the offensive line is a query) and they are likely to get into plenty of shootouts in the loaded AFC West. Playing in a domed stadium helps too.

Most Receiving Yards

Cooper Kupp
Most Receiving Yards

Cooper Kupp won this award by more than 400 yards last season and as was shown in the Super Bowl, even if the entire stadium knows that he is getting the ball, Sean McVay will still find ways to scheme him open. In a virtually identical situation this year, he looks great value to go back to back.

Most Rushing Yards

Nick Chubb
Most Rushing Yards

With the Browns having Jacoby Brissett as their starting quarterback for the first 12 weeks, Chubb should be the focal point of the Browns offence, behind probably the best run blocking line in football. Backup Kareem Hunt has requested a trade and could still be moved, meaning that Chubb would get an even bigger share of carries.
