After Jalen Duren covered with ease on Saturday, I’m going back to bigs against Cleveland with Ivica Zubac on this occasion.

It was only five games ago when the Clippers faced the Cavaliers with Zubac leading them to an upset win, with the big man recording 28 points and 20 rebounds.

Now without Kawhi, I expect Zubac to get even more usage and volume in this with the pick-and-roll offense with Harden. The Cavs concede points 9% above average and rebounds 15% above average over the last month, this is a great opportunity for Zubac.

I get it – he can shoot it a bit and when New Orleans is rolling out the leftovers with no Zion and CJ, he should score. But Jordan Hawkins is very much flash-in-the-pan opposed to a consistent scorer when the starters go down, and as a result I’m not big on this line.

Hawkins did score 25 against Detroit three starts back, but from his last 27 starts he’s only covered this line on three occasions.

For mine, Hawkins thrives with better players around him who can create for him as a shooter – he won’t be getting that in this game against Charlotte.

Rebound numbers are still nice for Deni Avdija, averaging 10.8 in his last nine games.

Entering last start he had recorded 10+ rebounds in three of his last four games, and was on track to do so again against the Kings before he got pulled playing just 32 minutes in a blowout loss.

I think Portland should be more competitive in this against New York, and with the Knicks conceding rebounds to power forwards 6% above average over the last month, this is a good look for the in-form Trail Blazer.
