The market has this as a race in two between Superazi and Bermadez – and fair enough – but the latter should be much shorter. His recent form is quite clearly superior and he maps to get the better run. Following three straight seconds, he looks primed to break through.

Godolphin filly Austmarr is building a formidable record with two wins from five starts and should prove very hard to beat here first up. She was terrific in her recent jumpout at this track, winning by a big margin. Respect the Sydney filly Stefi Magnetica, but this is a tougher assignment than winning at Orange.

Dehorned Unicorn has been racing most consistently in Sydney of late and finds a nice race to break through in down in Melbourne. Trainer Joe Pride is highly astute when it comes to placing his horses and his stable has been flying of late. The booking of Blake Shinn is a nice push as well.

Heart of Puissance is worth a small throw at the stumps here. The gelding has a lot of talent but has also had a lot of issues, but I really liked the way he ran through the line under no pressure at his most recent jumpout. If he can find some old form here he is capable of showing up at huge odds.
