We have UFC Freedom 250 picks and predictions for the card this Monday, June 15 at the White House, which is the most eagerly anticipated MMA event in recent history.

Headlining the historic card is Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje, who fight for the lightweight title. The co-main event is just as exciting as Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane fight for the interim heavyweight title, with Pereira hoping to become the first three-division champion.

Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje

Topuria is one of the most dominant fighters in step in the Octagon, and he is being respected in betting markets as the $1.15 favourite.

The 17-0 fighter defended his title against Charles Oliveira at UFC 317, and the fight lasted only 2:27. He sent a very good fighter packing in the first round, and it’s amazing to think that he’s still only 29 years old.

That doesn’t bode well for Gaethje, who despite being one of the toughest fighters, hasn’t always come in with a good game plan. It will take everything he has to produce an upset against Topuria, but we can’t see it happening.

Gaethje should be outclassed, and because he fights recklessly, a knockout win for Topuria is the likely outcome.

Alex Pereira vs. Ciryl Gane

Most of the late money has come for Gane to win, and based on his physical attributes, it’s hard to disagree. However, there are certain fighters who dig deep when they need to, and Pereira and Gane are polar opposites in that respect.

We didn’t like what we saw from Gane when he lost to Jon Jones in just over two minutes. He gave up far too easily, and we don’t want to bet on a fighter who gives up, especially against someone like Pereira, who always steps up to the occasion.

History could be made at UFC Freedom 250, and betting against Pereira doesn’t often yield positive results. Therefore, take the $1.92 odds, which are generous for the Brazilian.

Sean O’Malley vs. Aiemann Zahabi

It’s not the fight UFC fans were begging for, but it could give punters the best chance at securing value odds.

Sean O’Malley was taught a lesson in fighting when losing twice to Merab Dvalishvili, and although he bounced back with a win over Yadong Song, he didn’t look impressive in that decision victory. The hype has well and truly gone with O’Malley, but he’s still a $1.24 chance to win.

Aiemann Zahabi might not be a massive drawcard, but he wins fights with determination, and the $4.10 odds are far too generous to turn down. The Canadian is on a seven-fight winning streak, including a win over former champion Jose Aldo.

He’s sneaking under the radar, and although O’Malley brings the flashiness, Zahabi brings toughness.

Josh Hokit vs. Derrick Lewis

Josh Hokit was desperate to get on the UFC Freedom 250 card, and his prayers were answered with a win over Curtis Blaydes.

He didn’t have much respect prior to that performance, as his persona is more suitable for Bellator. However, beating Blaydes by decision in a slugfest earned the outspoken American plenty of new fans.

He now faces the likeable Derrick Lewis, who has slowed down somewhat as a 41-year-old, but he still possesses knockout power. That’s a big concern when facing a fighter like Lewis, who can end the fight on one punch.

$2.10 for a KO win for Hokit is a fair price, and it’s worth including in UFC picks.

Mauricio Ruffy vs. Michael Chandler

Michael Chander burst onto the UFC scene with a KO win over Dan Hooker, and although his win rate has been poor, he doesn’t often get an easy fight.

His record in the UFC is only 2-5, but he has fought against the likes of Gaethje, Oliveira, and most recent Paddy Pimblett. That’s a much harder strength of schedule compared to Mauricio Ruffy, who is the $1.15 favourite to win.

There is no doubt that Ruffy has more upside at 29 compared to Chandler at 41, but Chandler’s experience in big fights can’t be overlooked. He might lose, but getting $5.50 is worth taking a risk on the American fighter.

The stage is big, and he fights his best when the lights shine brightly.

Bo Nickal vs. Kyle Daukaus

Bo Nickal is an elite wrestler, but he has focused on his striking over the last few fights, which is strange.

He was knocked out by Reiner de Ridder in his first career loss, but he bounced back with a KO win of his own against Rodolfo Vieira. He wants to prove that he can strike, but we’re hoping he focused on getting Kyle Daukaus to the ground.

If Nickal can take down Daukaus, the fight is all but over. The $1.31 favourite is paying short odds because he’s so elite in this area, and although Daukaus is a solid fighter, we give the edge to Nickal by submission.

Diego Lopes vs. Steve Garcia

We love betting on Diego Lopes, and although he has two losses from his last three fights, they came against Australian legend Alexander Volkanovski, and this is a completely different fight for the Brazilian.

He went five rounds with Volk at UFC 325 in February, and having four months to prepare for Steve Garcia should be enough to get him over the line.

Garcia scored a KO win over David Onama, who isn’t an easy fighter to knockout. He’s an unassuming fighter with excellent power, but Lopes is smart enough to get out of his range and pick his opportunities to attack.
