UFC 324: Gaethje vs. Pimblett Main Card Picks
Justin Gaethje vs. Paddy Pimblett
Gaethje is a warrior inside the cage, and we have plenty of respect for him. However, arguably, he shouldn’t have been given this opportunity. He has had numerous chances, but he always makes for good TV.
Pimblett also makes for good TV, but he’s trending in the right direction. He deserves a title chance following wins over Michael Chandler and King Green, but this is easily his toughest fight to date, so he’ll need to measure up.
We have the 31-year-old grappling too well for Gaethje to land his big shots, and Pimblett could sink in the winning submission after a couple of rounds. Pimblett doesn’t want to make this a war, so he should take the fight to the ground.
Punters get $1.43 for Pimblett to win and $2.40 for submission.
Sean O’Malley vs. Yadong Song
Betting on Sean O’Malley isn’t easy after he was demolished by Merab Dvalishvili twice. Those performances were shockingly bad for the American, but Yadong Song isn’t on the same level as the former champion in Merab.
That should allow O’Malley to get back to his best, and because Song isn’t as much of a threat to take him down, the fight should be standing for the most part.
O’Malley will be able to dictate the pace of the fight and use his length. His kicks are dangerous, and although Song is a courageous fighter, he often walks right into a big punch or kick. That’s why he has eight losses on his record.
We’re taking O’Malley to get back on track with a big knockout win.
Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs. Derrick Lewis
Waldo Cortes-Acosta made a big impression last year, and it all started with a loss to Sergei Pavlovich. He rebounded with two emphatic KO victories against Ante Delija and Shamil Gaziev, so he should be confident.
Knocking out Derrick Lewis isn’t easy. The enigmatic 40-year-old took only 35 seconds to KO Tallison Teixeria in July. He doesn’t leave anything to chance, and Cortes-Acosta needs to be careful of getting rocked early.
It will be fireworks from the outset, and with Cortes-Acosta paying $1.31 to win, the $1.98 to win by KO is a much better offering. The fight is likely to go past one round, so whoever lands the first clean punch will win.
Natalia Silva vs. Rose Namajunas
There is a lack of respect for Rose Namajumas with UFC odds. The legend is a $4 chance to beat Natalia Silva, and we’re jumping on the odds.
Nothing against Silva, who has fought her way to #2 in the rankings, but Namajunas has been there and done that, and she comes off a gritty win against Miranda Maverick.
This fight will be decided on her ability to take Silva down. Silva has never won by submission, so her ground game isn’t as strong as Namajunas’. That’s where we give her the advantage, so snap up the value odds.
Arnold Allen vs. Jean Silva
Jean Silva has enough talent to rise through the featherweight ranks, as he looks to bounce back from a loss to Diego Lopes.
It was a tough way to lose, suffering a second-round knockout, but his win over Bryce Mitchell at UFC 314 was superb, and if he’s anywhere near that form, he should account for Arnold Allen, who can lack a put away punch.
The latest UFC odds have Silva at $1.36 to win, which is only slightly shorter than what we priced for him. We would have preferred $1.45, but we’re happy to include him in UFC multi bets this week.

UFC 324 Multi Bet
We have four fighters in our UFC 324 multi, including Pimblett to win the main event of the night.
It’s a main card-heavy multi, as we have Pimblett, O’Malley, Cortes-Acosta, and Silva winning their respective fights. They are all favourites to win, but combined, they return $5.56, so it’s a value UFC multi bet.
