The Aussies
1. Cameron Smith ($17 Win, $1.65 Top Aussie)
The 2022 Players Championship winner who now sits among the game’s elite as the World No.6, Cameron Smith is a legitimate chance to wear the green jacket this week. To thrive here one path is a sensational iron game combined with a strong putting game and an ability to score. Smith leads the Tour on the key stat – Par 4 Birdie or Better – while he leads the Tour in Putting Average and ranks fifth in GIR and eighth in Strokes Gained: Putting. He now has five Masters under his belt including Top 10 finishes in three of his last four. Must be included in sets.
2. Adam Scott ($61 Win, $4.25 Top Aussie)
The only Australian to win The Masters while he has three other Top 10s across the last 12 years. Best finish in last four though has been 18th. A win in 2020 and a fourth this year at Riviera are good guides and form is sound with four Top 10s in his last seven starts but Augusta is not a course for older players so looking to take on at the price.
3. Marc Leishman ($71 Win, $5.50 Top Aussie)
Veteran having an underwhelming season. Cannot seem to get going. Best finish in last seven starts was a 15th at The Genesis which, admittedly, was on key correlation course. Has three Top 10s here including a fifth last year but happy to take on at such a short quote in 2021.
4. Lucas Herbert ($226 Win, $13 Top Aussie)
Underrated Australian who won his maiden PGA Tour event this season and has four Top 21 finishes in his last seven starts. Great short game (7th sand saves, 45th strokes gained: around the green and 46th scrambling) while his putting has been otherworldly ranking 2nd in putting average and 5th in strokes gained: putting. Best roughie.
5. Min Woo Lee ($251 Win, $17 Top Aussie)
Huge hitter on the DP World Tour so the length of Augusta works in his favour. PGA Tour form though has been horrific with four missed cuts this year and only three of nine rounds sub-74.
6. Cameron Davis ($301 Win, $26 Top Aussie)
Big hitter whose form has tailed off with three missed cuts in his last four starts and a best finish of T-27 in his last six outings. On debut here. Will struggle to make the cut though course will suit.
