Although the head-to-head record is in Sabalenka’s favour, and the Belarussian has won their last two meetings in Indian Wells and Miami, Rybakina is one player that can out-hit and dictate against Sabalenka.

Since the start of 2024, the head-to-head is 5-5 including one clay and one grass matchup. Rybakina has covered the game handicap in eight of those ten matches, while owning the serve and return percentage of 103.2. On hard only during this period, Rybakina leads 5-3.

Sabalenka leads the metrics this US Open which is why she enters the Final as favourite, and she completely obliterated Pegula in that Semi Final – but that is the type of player Sabalenka thrives against, who can’t overpower her.

I’ve had my concerns with Rybakina this fortnight due to entering under an injury cloud, but she has delivered the goods with big wins over Osaka and Gauff. She may start slowly in this, but I think she storms over the top.
