Addington – Thursday

Best Bet

9. Rakero Rocket
Addington Race 6

Star triallist winning one of them by 18 lengths, the last 800 in 55.5. Sucrita was second in that trial and went on to win down south. Looks an awesome talent and wide draw might not stop a winning debut.

Next Best

9. Wag Star
Addington Race 2

Star performer at trials who was second last start to the unbeaten Ohoka Connor. Brought north to Addington from Southland by strike-rate king Craig Ferguson. Looks a very nice bet despite draw.

Next Best

9. I Dream Of Jeannie
Addington Race 5

She is really starting to hit her straps this campaign with a third and fourth. Last start was held up at vital stage. Off 25m handicap but still very much an each way factor.

Best Value

6.Cardi B
Addington Race 11

A 3YO filly fresh up who showed a bit of talent last campaign. Has good gate speed so could stay handy and be an each way play.

Invercargill – Friday

Best Bet

7. Lime In A Bottle
Invercargill Race 1

A six length winner at the Ashburton trials can be a big factor on debut, though looks an interesting race with a lot of undisclosed form.

Next Best

4. Street Art
Invercargill Race 7

Nice victory fresh up and Nathan Williamson stays with the horse. Standing start only query but four wins in five starts says it all really.

Best Value

6. Wayward Angel
Invercargill Race 3

Rattled home last start and looks a massive shout in this.

Alex Park – Friday

Best Bet

4. Jolimont
Alex Park Race 5

Second fresh-up was very encouraging which makes him a logical top pick in this. Big watch on Gandalf too. Recently sold and moved stables and is a recent workout winner.

Next Best

7. Old Town Road
Alex Park Race 7

Returns off 10m in this and while not as his best yet he could be saved for one run and can certainly outsprint them. With Copy That out injured, other top hope is last start winner Fernleigh Cash.

Methven – Sunday

Best Bet

4. Love Walked In
Methven Race 1

Placed in last two and was parked both times. Looks suited to grass and from handy draw can get a bit of this.

Next Best

7. El Conqueror
Methven Race 5

Last raced in December against Nazareth and Highgrove etc and Paul Nairn knows a thing or two about getting horses to be ready on race day. 10m handicap but nice each way chance.

Next Best

7. Watch That Man
Methven Race 6

Has great record of two wins and three placings from 7 starts on grass. Ben Hope drives in junior drivers race. Each way at least but fresh up so hard to assess fitness levels.

Next Best

7. Lester
Methven Race 7

Won three from six and is fresh up on another campaign. A win and two placings on the grass so clearly has ability on the surface and can surprise them.

Best Value

1. Bach
Methven Race 9

Tough race to pick but Bach has a key gear change with the addition of spreaders and clearly has ability. Has won 8 from 20 and with a safe beginning and better manners can certainly be a factor here .
