Pacific Championship Tips – Jillaroos v Kiwi Ferns – Round 3 2023

Pacific Championships Tips

The Women’s Pacific Championship finishes off with the Jillaroos and Kiwi Ferns and after a disappointing opener Australia look set to put New Zealand to the sword.

Best Bet

Australia -14.5
Line

Australia were very disappointing two weeks ago against New Zealand in a grinding, unimpressive, arrogant showing that the Jillaroos tried to win by running around the Kiwi Ferns, not through them.

That will change this week. Expect a much tighter showing from a team that on talent alone should win this by the length of a Tamika Upton stride.

New Zealand comfortably beat Tonga last week but even against a 12-woman side could not put them to the sword. Winning only 28-10 was in fact a poor result. The Kiwi Ferns lacked cohesion in attack while their kicking game was bordering on embarrassing.

Australia have won seven straight against New Zealand. The Kiwi Ferns played them close two weeks back but that is their best case scenario. If the Jillaroos click, this could be anything.

Tamika Upton Try/Jaime Chapman Try
Same Game Multi

Tamika Upton is one of the all-time leading NRLW tryscorers with 19 in 28 games and was outstanding on her Test debut scoring twice.

Tarryn Aiken scored five tries in 10 games this season and has five tries in five Tests for the Jillaroos.

Value Bet

Jessika Elliston
To Score A Try

Jessika Elliston was one of Australia’s best during her Test debut two weeks ago and she comes off her best tryscoring season where she crossed three times in 11 Tests. The Jillaroos have a huge advantage in the middle and will be playing hard and direct and that increases Elliston’s chances.
