NRL Tips – Raiders v Sharks Preview – Round 1 2022

NRL Betting Tips

Cronulla have enjoyed a massive pre-season and look primed to kick off the Craig Fitzgibbon era with a win.

Best Bet

Cronulla ($1.92)

Ricky Stuart is fighting for his job in Canberra and he is going about it in one hell of a style with two rookies to debut, the long-standing skipper dropped and a number of other questionable team choices including not naming trial star Xavier Savage.

The Sharks have a couple of veterans sidelined but recruits Dale Finucane and Nicho Hynes will debut in what looks a very strong Cronulla lineup.

Cronulla have an excellent record in the capital with six wins in their last eight trips to Canberra. The Raiders have been very poor at home when a short quote and have covered just 15 of 40 on their home patch across the last four seasons.

Same Game Multi

Cronulla 13+/Ronaldo Mulitalo Try/Matt Ikuvalu Try ($8.50)

It would not come as a shock to see Cronulla run away with this one with the Raiders looking extremely vulnerable, and looking incapable of putting up many points.

Mulitalo has a great tryscoring record with five tries in five games against the Raiders while Ikuvalu has scored in three of four against Canberra and comes off a year where he scored 14 tries in 15 games.

Value Bet

Braden Hamlin-Uele Try ($5.50)

Props don’t score a lot of tries but Braden Hamlin-Uele has a nice tryscoring record when he starts, as he is due to this week. He has scored six tries in 23 career starts. The Roosters love turning big props back inside close to the tryline so Craig Fitzgibbon may institute something similar in the Sharks.
