The PGA Tour continues to play offshore with the World Wide Technology Championship at the famed Mayakoba course in Mexico this week’s destination.
Best Bet
Korn Ferry Tour graduate Taylor Montgomery has enjoyed a stellar start to this season with four Top 15 finishes from four tournaments including a best finish of third at the Fortinet Championship. It has been primarily his putting that has put him in position to content. He ranks 7th in Birdie or Better, 4th in Putting Average and 3rd in Strokes Gained: Putting and that will serve him well in Mayakoba.
Mid-Tier Bet
Quality player who has been around the mark of late with the Stanford grad posting three straight Top 18 finishes. Putting has been superb ov er the last two seasons. He finished last year ranked 5th in Putting Average and 13th in Birdie or Better. A 4th at the 2021 RBC Heritage and two straight Top 12s here suggests Mayakoba will be well suited.
Value Bet
The Irishman won last week and it is not usually advisable to bet players to go back-to-back but Power may be an exception. Bermuda is a key guide here while Power also finished third at the Sony Open this year so he really has a liking for these resort courses off the mainland. Ranks 5th this season in Putting Average.
Longshot Bet
Swede David Lingmerth is not without a shot of featuring this week at mammoth odds. Lingmerth ranks 6th in Putting Average this year and has Top 16 finishes in Puerto Rico and Bermuda over the last 12 months, two key guides here.
