Port Adelaide head to the SCG on Saturday afternoon to face a Sydney side chasing a home qualifying final, in a game with very little to like from a betting perspective.

A horrible betting game, but the start is probably too big.

Port have been competitive against the good sides all year, covering the line in eight of their last nine against top six opposition.

They also own this match-up, winning nine of the last 12 against Sydney and covering in eight. At the SCG specifically they have won and covered in four of the last five.

The last meeting backs it up. Sydney got home by just three points in Round 14, 93 to 90.

Injuries make this a nightmare to pick. Mitch Georgiades is a big out and joins Zak Butters on the sidelines, while Lachie Jones is a significant loss in an inexperienced Port defence.

Sydney are hardly settled either. They make five changes, which is never a good sign, and lose Brodie Grundy along with Dane Rampe and Will Edwards from their back half.

Not a game to pile into, but back the history and the Power to cover.

Logan McDonald is worth taking on for a big one.

He has been in a good patch of form, kicking three or more in three of his last five, including three against Port the last time he played them.

Outside of Aliir Aliir, Port’s key defensive stocks are very thin, so McDonald could have a big night.
