Gold Coast head to Manuka Oval on Sunday afternoon with rain forecast to turn this into a slog, which makes the start worth taking.
Best Bet
The Suns look a good bet with the start.
Between 10 and 20mm of rain is forecast for Canberra on Sunday and the total has already been pushed down to 146.5. Scoring will be low and a big margin will be difficult to build.
These have been the two most disappointing teams of 2026, with the Giants particularly hard to pick. They are 3-4 against top six sides, 3-4 against bottom six sides and just 2-5 against the line.
The Suns have lost 10 straight and failed to cover in 11, but this is the worst side they have played in some time. Their last five defeats came against top 10 teams plus a resurgent Carlton, and four of those five were by under 13 points.
Hard to see either side getting out to a three goal margin here.
Same Game Multi
Pretty simple here. Both sides concede big numbers to inside mids and this is going to be very wet and very contested.
Clayton Oliver and Matt Rowell are both reliable 25 disposal getters.
Xavier O’Halloran has become a centre bounce mid for the injury hit Giants and has had 20 or more in his last two with Finn Callaghan out.
Value Bet
Just cannot imagine this Suns team losing 13 straight to end the season.
The rain does not help the Giants tsunami game, and they are thin for contested mids against Rowell, Anderson and Petracca.
Looks a big price for an upset.
