Tricky game to judge, with not much to play for on either side.
Freo have locked in the minor premiership, their second in club history. Carlton have already secured a top 10 spot, and to climb from 10th to ninth they need to beat the Dockers and have the Western Bulldogs lose to Melbourne.
Justin Longmuir has ruled out resting players and says Fremantle will play their best side, with mature age recruit Tobyn Murray to make his AFL debut. There is no indication Carlton will rest either.
There is not much between these teams and the Blues have had the betting edge, covering in 10 of the last 11 against Freo, although the Dockers have won the last two, both at Optus.
Carlton have been excellent under caretaker coach Josh Fraser at 10-2-1, although their performance against the Bulldogs last week was one of their worst under his reign.
The Blues are certainly capable of winning this, but much will depend on how much Fremantle are willing to exert themselves.
Ultimately Freo are just the better team. Back them to win in a competitive contest.

Sam Walsh loves playing Freo, having had 30 or more in four straight against them.
Luke Jackson loves playing Carlton, with 20 or more in his last three against them.
There are not many chinks in the Fremantle armour, but they have been poor against medium forwards lately. Brodie Kemp has kicked eight goals in the last three weeks and four last time against the Dockers.
Value Bet
As above, Freo have been the second best match up for medium forwards over the last ten weeks. Kemp kicked four last time against them and was named the Blues’ best afield in that game, and he has a bag of five in his last three.
