The Giants shouldn’t be 32 point favourites against anyone at the moment.
GWS have had a bizarre season, beating Geelong, Fremantle, Melbourne and Brisbane, but they are 3-5 against bottom six teams with just two covers in those eight games.
They were completely out-toughed in the wet last week against a Gold Coast side that had lost 10 straight, and importantly rain is forecast again here, which should keep the margin in check.
That defeat leaves the Giants two games behind 10th placed Carlton with two rounds to play, and a Carlton win in either of their last two ends it mathematically.
GWS have also lost Jayden Laverde to a punctured lung and Xavier O’Halloran to a hamstring, on top of season ending absences to Tom Green, Josh Kelly, Jesse Hogan and Finn Callaghan.
Aside from a blowout loss to ladder leading Fremantle, West Coast have been more competitive lately, with their other seven of their last nine defeats coming by fewer than 30 points.
The Eagles beat GWS in Perth earlier this season after going in as 29 point underdogs, and one more win would match their best record of the past five seasons.
They will be confident of remaining competitive here.
Same Game Multi
Matt Rowell ripped the Giants apart last week and Harley Reid could have a similar impact, having had 25 or more in four of his last five games.
Lachie Whitfield has had 25 or more in 10 straight when GWS are home favourites.
Tom McCarthy has had 20 or more in five straight.
Value Bet
The Giants have been vulnerable against small forwards all year, and young Milan Murdock is slowly building into his career. He has kicked a goal in four of his last five and two against GWS in Round 10, and the wet weather will suit the smalls.
