Daniil Medvedev copped a third-round scare coming back from two sets down, and now he faces an American who caused him a lot of trouble last year.

Best Bet
Horrible matchup for Daniil Medvedev who is a bit out of sorts as it is, requiring to come back from 2-0 sets down against Marozsan in the third-round.
Learner Tien beat Medvedev at last year’s Australian Open in five sets with the total games landing at 55. At Beijing in September, Tien would beat the Russian again with Medvedev retiring in the third set, but the first two sets went to 7 – while at the Shanghai Masters a week later, Medvedev finally got his revenge, but the total games hit 36 in a best-of-three with two tiebreakers.
Based on the history of these two players, the line of 37.5 appears low.
Next Best
Statistically from a service points + return points won, Iva Jovic is ranked one this Australian Open – and this includes beating world number eight Jasmine Paolini.
The 18-year-old American is in the midst of a Grand Slam breakout, and now faces Putintseva in the fourth-round.
Jovic has covered this game handicap in all three of her matches so far, while Putintseva had a long third-round encounter with Sonmez which likely took a bit out of the Kazakh. Expect the American to continue her dominant run.
Value Bet
Cerundolo and Zverev met on four occasions last year, with each playing winning twice. Although Cerundolo’s wins were on clay, taking the head-to-head to 3-2 over the German, he clearly has the game troubles Zverev.
Zverev did win the two hard court matches later in the year, but it wasn’t regulation. The German has dropped a set in each of the first three matches he’s played this Australian Open, and Cerundolo appears to be the most difficult matchup he’ll face yet.
I do think Zverev will be too good – but this won’t be straight sets.
