Smart bettors will be looking to bet the Sydney Roosters every way they can against a Newcastle team that looks desperately thin.
There is so much to like about the Roosters this year. The experience gained from so many of the young players last year will reap rewards this year, no risk, but it is the return of Luke Keary that is so important to the Roosters.
It is the opposite case for Newcastle. Mitchell Pearce is no superstar but his absence has left the Knights spine looking like arguably the worst in the NRL even with star Kalyn Ponga at fullback.
While a comfortable Roosters win looks to be on the cards, the top play is betting the Roosters to top 31 points. They have scored 28-plus in their last four against the Knights with those four wins all coming by 20-plus. There is obviously a major weather watch in Sydney but the Roosters are more than capable of putting up a big score on the Knights. The Roosters average 34.89 points per game in day games at the SCG, topping 42 in in four of six. This is going to be a runaway Roosters win and more than comfortable to bet them scoring plenty.
