The Sixers are yet to record a win this season, but facing the Spurs off no rest they should be able to open their account this season.
Best Bet
Clippers @ Kings (1:00pm)
Averaged 28 points per game in his last 20 games of last season, and from the last 10 games of the 21/22 season that average eclipsed 30 a game.
De’Aaron Fox opened up the 22/23 season with a big game against the Trail Blazers, finishing with 33 points from 21 field goal attempts, emphasising that life is a bit easier for him without sharing point guard duties with Tyrese Haliburton.
The Clippers are a strong defensive unit, but did look sluggish against the Lakers as they try to find their mix – expect Fox to push the ball in transition and easily cover the 22.5 points line.
Next Best
Spurs @ 76ers (9:00am)
Third time lucky for the Sixers after two tough games to open their 22/23 season against the Bucks and Celtics.
Philadelphia face the Spurs on the second-leg of a back-to-back, who just hung on against the Pacers after leading by as much as 21 points in the third quarter – and conceding 134 points in the process.
Embiid averaged 34.5 points, 12 rebounds and 6.5 assists against the Spurs last season, and is in desperate need of finding some touch. He should do so against the Jakob Poeltl match-up and the Sixers should win this by 20+.
VALUE BET
Raptors @ Heat (11:00am)
The Raptors may have lost to the Nets on Saturday, but they’re playing much better basketball than the Heat, with both teams playing their second game in as many days.
Toronto has had a tough schedule and their visit to Miami doesn’t make it any easier, but their roster is far more settled than the Heat’s, who have introduced Tyler Herro into their starting line-up while trying to find a sufficient replacement for PJ Tucker in their system.
Pascal Siakam has started the season on fire, and if they can play anywhere to the level they did against the Cavs and Nets, they’re great value to cause an upset on the road.
