It’s been a strong start by the Atlanta Hawks as a key piece of their team has made a return to his best form this season.

Hornets @ Hawks (8:00am)
2021/22 was a down year for John Collins, with plenty of speculation around being traded from the Hawks and being somewhat underutilised by Nate McMillan.
Collins averaged 16.2 points per game last season – his lowest output since his rookie season, and it’s around the points line we get for when the Hawks host the Hornets. This is despite Collins starting the season in red-hot form, averaging 23.5 points and a significant jump in minutes to 35 per game.
Averaging over 17.5 points in the three seasons prior to last season including 21.6 points in the 19/20 season, it appears Collins has flourished with the arrival of Dejounte Murray and could return to averaging around that 20ppg mark this season.
Next Best
Suns @ Clippers (1:00pm)
Both the Clippers and Suns are strong defensive units, emphasised by both being ranked in the top eight for opponent points per game in the early stages of this season.
The Suns are giving up 109 points per game which includes an overtime against the Blazers, while the Clippers are conceding 103 points per game – fifth best in the NBA.
Last season all four games went under the total points line between these two teams, and with the Clippers entering this off no rest we can expect the tempo to be taken out of this one.

Jazz @ Pelicans (10:00am)
Who averages the most rebounds per 36 minutes this season? I can guarantee your answer wasn’t Jarred Vanderbilt, but the Jazz Power Forward acquired in the Rudy Gobert trade has been a beast on the glass this season.
Vanderbilt averages 13 rebounds in just 22 minutes per game – the main concern being foul trouble, and if he can stay out of that he will push closer to 30 minutes.
With no real rebounding threat in this Utah team in a front court alongside Kelly Olynyk and Lauri Markkanen, Vanderbilt has free rein on the glass after competing with Karl-Anthony Towns last season. Great value to record his third consecutive 12+ rebound game this season.
