It’s hard to bump Fred VanVleet out of the Toronto line-up, but we’ve low-key wanted the Raptors to play this point-forward five more often this season, and Game 5 demonstrated why.
With Pascal Siakam and Scottie Barnes alternating point guard duties, it’s a difficult cover for the 76ers exploiting Maxey’s size on the defensive end. It also provides Toronto the opportunity to switch everything, with the length clearly troubling James Harden last game.
After Game 1 it’s been a low scoring series with three of the last four games going under 210.5 total points, but last game with the point-forward five for Toronto the total points came to 191 in Game 5.
With Embiid battling through a thumb injury and James Harden producing yet another underwhelming playoff series with 18.4 points per game, this will be another low scoring contest – one the 76ers simply must win.

Happy to forgive Brandon Ingram’s Game 5 performance against the Suns with the Pelicans heading back to New Orleans.
BI finished with 22 points from 7/19 shooting from the field, to go with 5 rebounds and 5 assists resulting in his PRA coming to 32 – below the line of 36.5 that is set for Game 6. But across the series Ingram averages 28.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists – a PRA of 39.8.
From his two home games this series, Ingram had 34 / 7 / 2 and 30 / 4 / 5 with both performances clearing covering the 36.5 PRA.
Although the Suns are favourites to close the series, the Pelicans have played with great energy this entire series and off the back of Ingram’s offensive efforts are a huge chance of forcing a 7-game series against the #1 seed.

Put a fork in the Jazz. Donovan Mitchell is in doubt for Game 6 with a hamstring injury, but even if he plays it’s hard to see Utah getting past a Luka led Dallas.
The Jazz were genuinely lucky to win Game 4 on their home floor – with the Mavs up four with 30 seconds remaining, an incorrect call was made resulting in Donovan Mitchell making the and-1. Dwight Powell would then go down the other end and miss both free throws, prior to the Mitchell / Gobert game-winning alley-oop.
Luka may have taken a game to warm-up, but he was back to his best in their 25-point Game 5 win with 33 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists – but the man of this series has been Jalen Brunson.
Averaging 28.6 points per game this series, Brunson has held down the fort with Doncic missing the first three games, and although his numbers have slowed down he’s still playing a huge role as Luka’s sidekick.
