The PGA Tour is back at Jack’s Place with Muirfield Village hosting the time-honoured The Memorial, drawing a stunning field in one of the best regular-season events of 2022.
Best Bet
Popular Irishman Shane Lowry is a wonderful fit for Muirfield Village and is a standout as the best bet. In two of his last five trips here he has finished Top 15. He is the best scrambler in the field and also leads the Tour in Par 4: 450-500. He ranks 3rd in Proximity, 7th in Sand Saves and 8th in Strokes Gained: Approach. He finished 2nd at the Honda this year and has finished Top 25 in the last two St Judes. Very good bet.
Mid-Tier Bet
Will Zalatoris was desperately unlucky not to break his PGA maiden with a win in the PGA Championship but will get a great opportunity at a course sure to suit. Zalatoris ranks 1st in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green, 3rd in Strokes Gained: Approach and 6th in GIR. Top 8 finishes at the 2022 American Express and WGC-St Jude.
Value Bet
Daniel Berger is an utterly ridiculous price. He has a poor record here with two missed cuts and a T-67 from three starts but ticks every other box. Berger ranks Top 20 in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green, Strokes Gained: Approach, Scrambling, Strokes Gained: Around The Green, Driving Accuracy and Sand Saves. He is a Top 12 putter on bent and has finished Top 5 at the last two St Judes and the Honda this year.
Longshot Bet
Quality iron player who has already won on Tour this year. He ranks 7th on Tour in Strokes Gained: Approach, 7th in Scrambling, 12th in Proximity and 15th in Par 4: 450-500 Yards. A runner-up at The American Express earlier in the year is a positive lead as is a T-13 here in 2018, one of his four starts at Muirfield.
