Titans v Bulldogs
Points look like they will be scarce in the opening game of Magic Weekend when the Titans and Bulldogs meet. Only one Titans game has topped 36 this year and that was when they let Brisbane put 44 on them. Canterbury’s first three games went 38 or fewer. Both teams are lacking attacking fluency at the moment. The best total of the weekend.
Same Game Multi
Jaime Chapman is an elite tryscorer with 18 tries in her last 25 NRLW games.
Andie Robinson has been one of Canterbury’s best and crossed two games back.
Tigers v Roosters
The Roosters tend to win and win big. In their last 12 regular season games, the Roosters have won by at least 12 points in 10 of them. The Roosters have scored at least 24 in all four games this year and remain the last unbeaten. Tarryn Aiken returns in a huge boost for the Roosters. They have won their two matches against the Tigers by 16 and 38. With the injury toll at the Tigers, the Roosters win this by as much as they want.
Same Game Multi
Taina Naividi has been a revelation this year with four tries in her three appearances.
Otesa Pule has scored eight tries in the last 25 games.
Broncos v Sharks
If Cronulla continue to be as flight and wasteful against the Broncos as they have been for much of the season, they are going to get thumped no matter how much talent they have on the team sheet. The Sharks have twice been beaten as double digit favourites and fell in against the Tigers. Brisbane have scored at least 26 in all four games with their three wins all coming by at least 24 points. The ruthless Broncos should run riot in this one.
Same Game Multi
Tamika Upton is the all-time leading scorers with 31 tries in 42 games.
Kerri Johnson has been a tryscoring machine with four tries in four matches.
Hayley Maddick has scored two tries in her four games on the wing.
Cowboys v Warriors
The Warriors have not shown a lot this season but they have not given up the ghost in any match and the talent differential is not huge with the Cowboys. North Queensland are 3-1 this season but have benefited from a soft draw. North Queensland should not be laying such a big start on the road. The plus does look a sound bet.
Same Game Multi
Michaela Brake was a tryscoring regular in rugby union and has scored twice this year.
Patricia Maliepo is one of just five Warriors to score this year.
Knights v Raiders
All is not well in the capital. After a stunningly bad start to the season where they have conceded an average of 41 points per game, Raiders coach Darren Bothwick blasted a group of his players for prioritizing drinking and partying over performance. It is going to get worse for the Raiders before it gets better. Newcastle have won three straight by 16-plus and should run up a score on Canberra.
Same Game Multi
Sheridan Gallagher is an elite finisher with 18 tries in 23 games.
Tayla Predebon is a beast who has scored this year and is a major danger close to the line.
Eels v Dragons
Magic Weekend wraps up with the Eels and Dragons and St George Illawarra have had their chances severely damaged by the suspension to Teagan Berry. Berry is the best player in the NRLW and is the centrepiece of the Dragons attack. With Kasey Reh out with a head knock and Indie Bostock still out hurt, the Dragons are just missing too many players, compounded by the return of star Kennedy Cherrington for the Eels.
Same Game Multi
Chloe Jackson is Parramatta’s leading tryscorer this year with three.
Rory Owen has seven tries in 13 games and is one of the Eels’ most dangerous weapons.
