North Queensland are simply a better team than Canberra and given their recent record over the Raiders, look a very good bet as an underdog.

The Cowboys have the sixth best defence and eighth best attack while the Raiders rank bottom four in both categories. The biggest worry is how poorly Canberra have defended, conceding 30-plus in six of eight.

North Queensland have completely dominated Canberra of late with seven straight wins, the last three by double digits. The Cowboys have won the last three at Canberra Stadium. They are 8-1 against the spread in the last nine meetings.

The Raiders are 15-26 against the spread when favoured while the Cowboys have covered 11 of 17 interstate.

North Queensland are one of the better bets of the round.

The Raiders have been very poor defensively on their edges with the centres and second rowers particularly worrying. There is a hope at the Raiders that Hudson Young backs up and plays on the left but that is no certainity. Helium Luki has been in outstanding form this year and has crossed for six tries in 12 games. Anything north of $2.60 is a bet.
