Brisbane’s premiership defence has not gone as expected with a heavy injury toll leaving them in 11th position with a 5-6 record. They have dropped their last three, conceding 112 points in those three matches with just 40 points scored.

The situation is getting serious for Michael Maguire’s team now so they won’t be resting on their laurels when a winless St George Illawarra come to town. It is hard to cop the Broncos being so heavily favoured though.

Favourites of 18 or more cover at just 37% the last four years while favourites of more than two converted tries who sit outside the Top 8 cover at just 34% since 2008.

The Dragons also have a great record against the Broncos, winning eight of the last 10 meetings. They have covered nine of the last 12.
