Newcastle have been one of the surprise packets of the year and have absolutely been an attacking powerhouse when star Kalyn Ponga has played, something he is expected to do this week after avoiding suspension.

The Knights have scored 36-plus in the last four games Ponga has played and given the Eels possess the worst defence in the NRL, having conceded 30-plus in their last four, this sets up for a Newcastle rout.

One key angle is how these teams perform against teams of opposite standing. The Knights are 15-5 against the spread against bottom five teams while the Eels are 14-29 against the number when playing a Top 8 team.

The Knights are 31-16 ATS in day games while they have covered six of nine when favoured by at least eight points.
