Brisbane’s season is hanging by the barest of threads and they must attempt to salvage their title defence without key halfback Adam Reynolds and star forward Patrick Carrigan. The mountain appears to be too high.

The Roosters have certainly had the best of the Broncos. They have won nine of the last 12 including the last two. The Chooks have won four straight at Suncorp. They have covered the spread in four of the last five clashes.

Trent Robinson and Michael Maguire have been squaring off since 2013 and Robinson has been undervalued by the market, covering 69% of their meetings.

Brisbane have failed to cover their last five against Top 8 teams while the Sydney Roosters are 24-15 against the spread against teams outside the Top 8.

The Chooks are entitled to win this one and win it well.
