The 2026 finals series kicks off with a compelling affair between South Sydney and Newcastle with the Rabbitohs heavily favoured.

Souths have found some form with four wins in their last five though their only matchup against a Top 8 team (excluding the Roosters, who rested their best team) was a 45-26 loss to the Warriors.

Newcastle have been hit hard by injury and it has resulted in them conceding 44-plus in their last two.

The Knights have tended to play the Rabbitohs well though with four wins in the last five meetings and seven covers in the last 10 clashes.

Souths have been ordinary in patches though in their last two despite the big margins of victory and the Knights do get some troops back.

He would have more if he wasn’t so selfless at NRL level. He is huge odds to score.
