Wins outside the division will be rare for NFC South teams making this game incredibly important to how the division plays out.

The pressure is certainly on the Panthers after they claimed division honours last year but this looks a spot for the Falcons, even with a backup QB in play with Cooper Rush set to start. Backup QBs are 19-9 against the spread in Weeks 1-2 since 2013.

When two teams who did not cover in Week 1 meet in Week 2, the underdog cover at 67%.

The Panthers have not won or covered as a favourite since 2021 – a run of 12 straight games – while they are 1-5 ATS off scoring at least 30.

Tetairoa McMillan may well be listed as the top Panthers receiver and have a strong pedigree but Jalen Coker sure has seemed to developed better chemistry with quarterback Bryce Young. Coker pulled in eight balls for 138 yards and two touchdowns in the opener against the Bears, winning nine targets to eight after McMillan. It followed last year’s playoff loss to the Rams where Coker hauled in nine catches for 134 yards. This is an outstanding value bet.
