Green Bay opened as favourites and the line has flipped, because they arrive in Minneapolis without their best defender, without their lead back and with two starting linemen in doubt.

Micah Parsons is recovering from December knee surgery and cannot play before Week 5. He had 12.5 sacks in fourteen games last year, a third of Green Bay’s total.

Josh Jacobs is on the Commissioner’s Exempt List with no end date, which leaves MarShawn Lloyd, a back with one NFL game and fifteen career rushing yards, and Kaleb Johnson, picked up from Pittsburgh a fortnight ago. Left guard Aaron Banks and right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele are both managing knees and Matt LaFleur has called them uncertain.

Minnesota hand the offence to Kyler Murray, who has a far better offensive infrastructure around him than he ever had in Arizona – Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson, not to mention Kevin O’Connell calling plays.

Brian Flores’ defence ranked third in the league last season and tied fourth with 49 sacks.

Playoffs are the expectation for both teams this year, but the injury toll tilts this game to the Vikings.
