Dallas are 7-3 against the number in their last ten meetings with the Giants and they bring the better quarterback, the better receivers and a defence that should be improved from last season.

Dak Prescott finished third in the NFL for passing yards last season with 4,552 at 30 touchdowns to 10 interceptions, and he has CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens outside him. Dallas scored 471 points. The problem was never the offence.

It was the 511 they conceded, worst in the league, and Jerry Jones has opened his cheque book to sign Quinnen Williams, Rashan Gary and Von Miller to try and rectify the situation. While the long term value of those signings is questionable, there should be some short term improvement at least. They also have a new and highly regarded defensive co-ordinator in Christian Parker.

New York have cause for optimism under John Harbaugh, but Malik Nabers is a game-time call working back from an ACL, Roy Robertson-Harris and Calvin Austin III are already gone for the season, and there is a lot being asked of a roster that won four games last season. Jaxson Dart showed flashes, but he is far from established as an NFL starter.

The market has come from 1.5 to 3 for a reason. Expect Dallas to start the year with a win.
