Both of these teams won three games last season and made significant offseason changes, but only one of them has fixed the thing that was actually broken.

Tennessee have brought in Robert Saleh as head coach with Brian Daboll running the offence, which is a serious upgrade in both rooms. Cam Ward threw five touchdowns to eleven turnovers across his first nine starts and then twelve to three across his last eight, which is a solid platform for Daboll to build on.

Carnell Tate at fourth overall and Wan’Dale Robinson off a thousand-yard season give him the deepest receiver group this team has had since AJ Brown left town.

The Jets ranked last in the league in passing yards per game and did not record a single interception all season. Signing Geno Smith after he led the NFL in interceptions is hardly inspiring.

New York also went 0-5 both straight up and against the number to close last season, and every one of those losses was by 23 points or more.

Expect Tennessee to control this one.
