Geelong are facing some serious questions after last week and North are well placed to keep the margin within reach.
The Cats turned in one of their worst performances in some time against Port Adelaide, losing by 30 points and getting destroyed out of the middle, conceding 46 clearances to 28. That midfield task only gets harder this week against a North side whose young guns are firing, currently ranked third for clearance differential.Chris Scott has also backed in young ruck Mitch Edwards, who could be in for a difficult afternoon against Tristan Xerri.
The numbers are against North, who are riding their longest active team-versus-team losing streak in the competition, having lost their last 14 against the Cats. But Geelong have a poor record following heavy defeats, covering in just six of 16 games after a 20+ point loss.
Back North’s strong midfield to keep them in this one.
Same Game Multi
Cooper Trembath has kicked two or more goals in eight of his ten games this season and Geelong are struggling to defend key forwards.
Steer clear of Sheezel and LDU as both could attract tagging attention. With Wardlaw out, Finn O’Sullivan will get maximum midfield minutes and should bring up his fourth straight 20-disposal game.
Shaun Mannagh is out of sorts but has had 20 or more disposals in six of seven games at the Cattery.
Value Bet
If Sheezel picks up a tag he may push forward more, and he has been hitting the scoreboard regularly of late, kicking a goal in three of his last four games. He’s worth backing for one and two snags.
