Queensland had long held the advantage over New South Wales but that ascendancy has switched in recent years. The Blues have lifted the shield in three of the last four years and reclaimed Origin supremacy last season after a shock loss in 2024 that rightly cost coach Kylie Hilder her job.
The Blues handed the reins to Roosters premiership winning coach John Strange – the best coach in the women’s game – and it reaped immediate rewards with NSW winning the two live games of the series by 20 points before going down in the dead rubber.
It is hard to see anything but a comfortable Sky Blues win here. They have strengthened the team with Milllie Elliott back and Rima Butler and Teagan Berry named to debut.
Queensland have mass changes to their backline with Brigginshaw retired, Tarryn Aiken out hurt and a number of other outs led by Jasmine Peters.
The Blues are dominant in the pack, have better halves and a more dynamic backline and should win this comfortably.
Same Game Multi
Jayme Fressard scored in every game during her debut Origin series.
Jaime Chapman has four tries in eight Origins and has 14 tries in 22 games across the last two seasons.
Jess Sergis scored in two of the three games last season.
Value Bet
Olivia Kernick is an elite player and she knows her way to the line. The Roosters lock scored twice in three games last series while she has 13 tries in 24 games for the Roosters across the last two seasons. Kernick plays huge minutes, has a key role in the attack and can score a try. This is a great bet.
