No team has been more heavily bet in Round 9 than the Gold Coast Titans, who have shortened from $1.95 into $1.60 at home against the Canberra Raiders.

The Titans come off a bye and before that put 50 on the Eels. Teams off scoring 50-plus cover at 56%.

The Titans have also covered 10 of 17 against bottom five teams.

This is very much a play against the Raiders though, who have been hit hard by injury and suspension with Josh Papalii, Xavier Savage, Hudson Young, Noah Martin, Zac Hosking and Matty Nicholson all missing. Jayden Brailey starting at lock says everything.

The Raiders right edge defence has been worrisome for a long time and it has devolved into utterly horrific this season where they have conceded 54% of their tries. They are done no favours this week with injuries to their edge backrowers. Awful defender Matt Timoko has been named again and his predisposition to charge in will suit hard-runner Beau Fermor. Fermor is a good tryscorer who has 10-plus tries in two of his last three full seasons.
