Neither of these offences is close to being fixed and both want to run the football.

Los Angeles scored 14 at home in a 26-14 loss to Arizona, converting two of eight third downs and going 0 for 3 on fourth. Mike McDaniel’s offence looked nothing like the one everyone was expecting and the line has got thinner since, with Tyler Biadasz gone for the season and Trey Pipkins III ruled out, leaving Kayode Awosika at left guard beside a rookie centre. Justin Herbert took three sacks.

Las Vegas are worse. Kirk Cousins went 1 of 7 for 21 yards with two interceptions on throws of 10 air yards or more, and Brock Bowers is doubtful again with a knee, which leaves them with no receiving threat at all. They have gone 38 consecutive games without reaching 30 points, the longest active run in the league.

Klint Kubiak will hand it to Ashton Jeanty, who took 29 touches in the opener, and Las Vegas did not punt until the fourth quarter doing exactly that. Long drives on the ground keep the clock moving.

Expect this to be one of the lowest scoring games of the week.
