Best Bet
Bluebird Bay looks beautifully placed in this set weights Class 1. The colt has already won at this level, last prep, so comes in particularly well under the conditions. He put the writing on the wall with a close up fourth placing here a fortnight ago and draws to get all the favours from barrier four.

Federalist is bred to be special being by I Am Invincible out of Arcadia Queen and he certainly has shown enough ability at the trials to be going close on debut. He really closed off strongly late under very little pressure. Handy enough race but should take a lot of beating.

Matcha Latte is clearly the class runner in the Provincial Championship Qualifier. The five year old has won just the one race but more than $400K in prizemoney and comes in with an official rating of 95 off the back of five placings at group level. He wasn’t beaten far in the Qualifier three weeks ago and should strip much fitter for that.
