Silver Pledge didn’t do much first up at Bendigo but he is well capable of improving here second up and out in trip. He shaped as a very promising stayer 12 months ago so the huge odds on offer are worth taking, even with a stablemate as favourite. Dylan Dunn will get back on him but he will be strong late.

Da Nang Star really comes into this race on a heavy track. He did enough first up at Werribee, finishing fourth in a comparable race to this, but that was on soft ground. The gelding really comes into his own on heavy ground though – he posted dashing back to back wins when he saw similar going at this time last year.
