Racing heads to Mornington on Monday for the Queen’s Birthday meeting, which is a metropolitan class meeting. The track is rated heavy but should be open to improvement with clear weather.
Best Bet
Centenary Florin looks a very solid bet to open the card. She was terrific winning on debut at the Bool over the carnival then lost no admirers when running third last time at Flemington over 1400m. Coming back a furlong in trip won’t do her cause any harm and the in-form Declan Bates sticks.

Trainer Julius Sandhu has a great strike rated when bringing horses to Mornington and Hustle In Heels looks a likely type. The lightly raced three year old has been jumping out very well of late which is particularly encouraging given she has won both first up starts. Just needs some luck early from the wide draw.
Recommended Price: $4.20

My Roca Fella has long shown good talent – he won his maiden by seven lengths – but has taken until this campaign to live up to it. He has now won back to back races over 2000m, leading all the way and showing a real appreciation for wet ground – both factors in his favour again. Back to his home track he looks excellent value.
Recommended Price: $6.00
