Penrith’s form has been well below its best and no team has shown an ability to take on the Panthers more over the last few seasons than Canterbury.
Best Bet

Penrith have been terribly unconvincing for the better part of the last three months with the market not nearly reactive enough to the drop in form. No number tells that story better than the fact Penrith have covered just two of nine games since Round 16. The Panthers are overrated and this line is far too big.
Canterbury – made up of former Penrith players, coaches and administrators – tend to play the Panthers as well as any team with their knowledge of the ‘Penrith way’ and the desire to one-up their old club both key factors. Canterbury have won two of the last three and covered four of the last six.
This is a horrid spot for Penrith too. They are 3-10 ATS when favoured by at least eight points and 2-8 ATS against bottom nine teams. They have covered just three of 14 night games and one of seven off conceding 14 or fewer.
The Bulldogs have covered seven of nine getting at least eight points and look an excellent bet to do so again.
Same Game Multi

The under has hit in over 67% of night games this season while it is 15-8 when the Bulldogs play at night.
Tom Jenkins is tied for the lead in the tryscoring race with 28 this season including a double when the teams last met.
Matt Burton absolutely thrives in the centres with 18 tries in 29 games.
Value Bet

Recently re-signed Bulldogs second rower Jacob Preston has been the club’s best tryscoring option over the last two seasons and he thrives against Penrith. Preston has 18 tries in 40 games across the last two years, an excellent return for an edge on a team that struggles to score points. In his only four starts against Penrith, Preston has scored six tries including a hat-trick when the teams met in Round 26 last year.
