It’s surprising the Stars have been backed into favouritism here, with the trends strongly supporting the home side.

This match-up has been dominated by the home team, who have won 14 of the last 17 meetings. The Strikers have been a great bet as home underdogs, winning 21 of 28, while the Stars have been poor travelling favourites, losing four of five from that position.

There was plenty to like about the Strikers’ opening win over the Sixers at the SCG, a venue few travelling teams enjoy success at.
